- Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H&HF): Whenever one of you is needy and brings that to other people, he will not be satisfied. and Whenever someone is needy and brings that to Lord, he shall give him what he wants. sooner or later.
- Imam Sadiq (As.): Whenever you had tenderness in your heart, Pray. because your heart doesn't get tender unless it's pure.
- I told to Imam Baqir (A.S): “What is the meaning of “truly, Ibrahim was awwah and patient”? He replied: “Awwah means (the one who is) praying (to) and wailing (for God) a lot.””
- “Two people, who have acted alike, enter the heaven, but one of them sees the other one in a higher place. Then, he says: O’ Lord! How come has he a superior place in comparison to me while we acted alike? God the Almighty replies: “because he asked Me (whatever he needed) and you did not do that”.
- “The most knowledgeable person to God is the one who asks more from Him”
- “Whoever prays a lot, the angels say: This voice is familiar (to us) and this is the supplication which is accepted and this is the need which is provided”
-
The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his Household):
-
وَ لَوْ عَرَفْتُمُ اللَّهَ حَقَّ مَعْرِفَتِهِ لَزَالَتِ الْجِبَالُ بِدُعَائِكُم
If you knew god the way you should’ve known, Mountains definitely will be moved by your supplications. - Crying out of fear of God is the key to his mercy, it’s a sign for his acceptance and it’s a door to answering [supplications]
- Pray to God and believe in his answeres. But understand that God won't accept prays from an unwitting oblivious heart.
Prophetic Supplications: Sahifah Supplication
Sahifah Supplication
It is reported from Amir al-Mu'minin [the Commander of the believers] Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) that he said: Jabra’il (Gabriel) descended while I was praying behind the Station [of Ibrahim]. When I finished, I sought forgiveness from Allah the Exalted for my community. Jabra’il (peace be upon him) then said to me, "O Mohammad, I see that you are extremely concerned for your community, while Allah the Exalted is Merciful to His servants."
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Jabra’il (peace be upon him), "O my brother, you are beloved to me and beloved to my community. Teach me a supplication by which my community will remember me after I am gone."
Jabra’il (peace be upon him) said to him, "O Mohammad, I advise you to command your community to fast for three days of Aayyamul-Bidh [when the moon is the most radiant] in every month - the 13th, 14th, and 15th. And I advise you, O Mohammad, to command your community to supplicate with this noble du'a [supplication], for the Bearers of the Throne carry the Throne by the virtue of this supplication, and by its blessings one descends to the earth and ascends to the heaven. And this the supplication which is written on the gates of Paradise, its chambers, its balconies, and its dwellings. And by it, the gates of Paradise are opened, and by this supplication the creation will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection by the command of Allah the Mighty and Majestic. And whoever from your community recites this supplication, by its blessings, Allah the Mighty and Majestic will save him from the punishment of the grave and secure him from the Greatest Terror and the afflictions of this world and the Hereafter. And whoever recites it, Allah will save him from the torment of the Fire.
Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked Jabra’il (peace be upon him) about the reward of this supplication. Jabra’il (peace be upon him) said, "O Mohammad, you have asked me about something that I cannot fully describe, and only Allah knows its true worth. O Mohammad, even if the trees of the world became pens, the oceans became ink, and all creation became scribes, they could not encompass the reward of one who recites this supplication. And no servant recites this supplication and desires his freedom, except that Allah the Blessed and Exalted frees him from the bondage of servitude. And no grief-stricken person recites it except that Allah alleviates his sorrow and distress. And no seeker of a need recites it except that Allah the Mighty and Majestic fulfills it for him in this world and the Hereafter, if Allah the Exalted wills. And He will protect him from sudden death, the horrors of the grave, and the poverty of this world, and Allah the Blessed and Exalted will grant him intercession on the Day of Resurrection, and he will have smile in his face [he will be happy], and Allah the Mighty and Majestic will enter him, by the blessing of this supplication, into the Abode of Peace (Paradise) and make him dwell in the lofty chambers of Paradise, and will clothe him in the garments of Paradise that never wear out. And whoever fasts and recites this supplication, Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, shall write for him the reward of Gabriel, Michael, Israfil, Ezra'il, Abraham the Friend, Moses the Interlocutor, Jesus, and Mohammad, may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him and all of them. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) said: "I have been amazed at the abundance of rewards mentioned by Jabra’il (Gabriel) for the one who recites this supplication." Then Jabra’il said: "O Mohammad, there is no one from your nation who invokes this supplication even once in his lifetime, except that Allah will resurrect him on the Day of Resurrection, and his face will be shining like the full moon. The people will say: 'Is he a prophet?' And the angels will inform them that he is not a prophet or an angel, but rather a servant of Allah the Exalted, from the progeny of Adam, who recited this supplication once in his lifetime, so Allah the Exalted has honored him with this honor." Then Jabra’il said to the Prophet (peace be upon him): O Mohammad, Then Jabra’il (Gabriel) said to the Prophet (peace be upon him), "O Mohammad, whoever recites this supplication five times will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be standing by his grave with a Buraq[1] from Paradise, and I will not depart until he mounts that Buraq and does not dismount from it except in the Abode of Bliss, abiding and eternal, and he will have no reckoning against him in the proximity of Abraham and in the proximity of Mohammad (peace be upon them). And I guarantee for the one who recites this supplication, male or female, that Allah the Exalted will not punish him, even if his sins are more than the foam of the sea, the drops of rain, the leaves of the trees, and the number of all the creatures of Paradise and the inhabitants of the Fire. And Allah the Exalted commands that the reward of a valid pilgrimage and an accepted minor pilgrimage be written for the one who invokes this supplication. O Mohammad, and whoever recites this supplication five times in a state of purity at the time of sleep, he will see you in his dream, and you would give him the glad tidings of Paradise. And if someone is hungry or thirsty and cannot find anything to eat or drink, or if he is sick and recites this supplication, then by the blessing of this supplication, Allah the Exalted will relieve him of what he is in, and will feed him and give him to drink, and will fulfill for him the needs of this world and the Hereafter.
And if something is stolen from someone or a slave escapes from him, and he rises, purifies himself, prays two or four rak'ahs (units), and recites in each rak'ah Surah al-Fatihah once and Surah al-Ikhlas twice, and when he greets with the salutation, he recites this supplication and places the document between his hands or under his head, then Allah the Exalted will gather the east and the west and return the runaway slave by the blessing of this supplication, if Allah the Exalted wills. And if he fears an enemy, he can recite this supplication upon himself, and Allah the Exalted will place him in a fortified fortress, and no one, including his enemies, will be able to overcome him.
And there is no servant who recites it while having a debt, except that Allah the Exalted will pay it off for him and facilitate someone to pay it on his behalf, if Allah the Exalted wills. And if a believing and sincere servant of Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, recites it on a mountain, the mountain will move by the permission of Allah the Glorious and Exalted. And if he recites it with a pure intention upon the water, the water will freeze. And do not be amazed by the virtue I have mentioned regarding this supplication, for it contains the Greatest Name of Allah the Glorious and Exalted, and when the reciter recites it, when the angels, jinn, and humans hear it, they will supplicate for him, and Allah the Glorious and Exalted will accept their supplication for him, all of that by the blessing of Allah the Glorious and Exalted and the blessing of this supplication.
And indeed, whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, it is obligatory that his heart not be deceived by what is mentioned in this supplication, for Allah provides for whom He wills without measure. And whoever recites it, memorizes it, or copies it, let him not be stingy with it towards any Muslim. And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said, "I have not recited this supplication in any of my military campaigns except that I emerged victorious over my enemies by its blessing." And he (peace be upon him and his family) said, "Whoever recites this supplication is given the light of the righteous on his face, and every difficulty is facilitated for him, and every ease is made easy for him."
Al-Hassan al-Basri said, "I have heard regarding the virtue of this supplication things that I cannot describe. And if whoever recites it, strikes the earth with his foot, the earth would move." And Sufyan al-Suri said, “Woe to the one who does not know the right of this supplication, for whoever knows its right and sanctity, Allah the Glorious and Exalted will suffice him from every hardship. And if a debtor recites it, Allah the Glorious and Exalted will pay off his debts and facilitate every difficulty for him, and protect him from every harm, and save him from any disease and affliction and remove from him every grief and sorrow. So, learn it and teach it, for in it is abundant goodness”. The Supplication is as follows:
سُبْحانَ الله الْعظیمِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحانَ الله الْعظیمِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحانَ الله الْعظیمِ

[1] Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The Buraq is [heavenly animal] smaller than a mule and larger than a donkey, with floppy ears. Its eyes are in its hooves, and its stride is as far as the eye can see. When it reaches a mountain, its forelegs become short and its hindlegs become long. But when it descends, its forelegs become long and its hindlegs become short. It has a tuft of hair on its right side, and it has two wings behind it.
