- Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H&HF): Whenever one of you is needy and brings that to other people, he will not be satisfied. and Whenever someone is needy and brings that to Lord, he shall give him what he wants. sooner or later.
- Imam Sadiq (As.): Whenever you had tenderness in your heart, Pray. because your heart doesn't get tender unless it's pure.
- I told to Imam Baqir (A.S): “What is the meaning of “truly, Ibrahim was awwah and patient”? He replied: “Awwah means (the one who is) praying (to) and wailing (for God) a lot.””
- “Two people, who have acted alike, enter the heaven, but one of them sees the other one in a higher place. Then, he says: O’ Lord! How come has he a superior place in comparison to me while we acted alike? God the Almighty replies: “because he asked Me (whatever he needed) and you did not do that”.
- “The most knowledgeable person to God is the one who asks more from Him”
- “Whoever prays a lot, the angels say: This voice is familiar (to us) and this is the supplication which is accepted and this is the need which is provided”

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his Household):

وَ لَوْ عَرَفْتُمُ اللَّهَ حَقَّ مَعْرِفَتِهِ لَزَالَتِ الْجِبَالُ بِدُعَائِكُم
If you knew god the way you should’ve known, Mountains definitely will be moved by your supplications. - Crying out of fear of God is the key to his mercy, it’s a sign for his acceptance and it’s a door to answering [supplications]
- Pray to God and believe in his answeres. But understand that God won't accept prays from an unwitting oblivious heart.
2. Seeking Forgiveness for Minor Sins
O Mohammad, and whoever among your nation has many minor sins until he becomes notorious for their abundance and he is being disgraced for continuing them, he should rely on me at dawn or before the fading of twilight, and should turn his face towards me and say:
يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ، فُلاَنُ بْنُ فُلاَن عَبْدُكَ شَدِيدٌ حَيَاؤُهُ مِنْكَ لِتَعَرُّضِهِ لِرَحْمَتِكَ لاِِصْرَارِهِ عَلَى مَا نَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ الْعَظِيمِ يَا عَظِيمُ إِنَّ عَظِيمَ مَا أَتَيْتُ بِهِ لاَ يَعْلَمُهُ غَيْرُكَ قَدْ شَمِتَ بِي فِيهِ الْقَرِيبُ وَ الْبَعِيدُ وَ أَسْلَمَنِي فِيهِ الْعَدُوُّ وَ الْحَبِيبُ وَ أَلْقَيْتُ بِيَدِي إِلَيْكَ طَمَعاً لِاَمْر وَاحِد وَ طَمَعِي ذَلِكَ فِي رَحْمَتِكَ. فَارْحَمْنِي يَا ذَا الرَّحْمَةِ الْوَاسِعَةِ وَ تَلاَفَنِي بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَ الْعِصْمَةِ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ إِنِّي إِلَيْكَ مُتَضَرِّعٌ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ أَقْدَامَ حَمَلَةِ عَرْشِكَ ذِكْرُهُ وَ تُرْعِدُ لِسَمَاعِهِ أَرْكَانُ الْعَرْشِ إِلَى أَسْفَلِ التُّخُومِ، إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعِزِّ ذَلِكَ الاِسْمِ الَّذِي مَلاََ كُلَّ شَيْء دُونَكَ إِلاَّ رَحِمْتَنِي يَا رَبِّ بِاسْتِجَارَتِي إِلَيْكَ بِاسْمِكَ هَذَا يَا عَظِيمُ، أَتَيْتُكَ بِكَذَا وَ كَذَا فَاغْفِرْ لِي تَبِعَتَهُ وَ عَافِنِي مِنْ إِشَاعَتِهِ بَعْدَ مَقَامِي هَذَا يَا رَحِيمُ.
O Lord, O Lord, the person (your name) son of the person (your father’s name), Your servant who is deeply ashamed of You for misusing Your mercy due to his insistence on the great sin You have forbidden. O Great One, indeed the greatness of what I have brought forth is known only to You. The near and the far have blamed me about it, the enemy and the beloved have submitted me in it, and I have thrown myself to You with my own hand, being greedy of one thing, and that greed of mine lies in Your mercy, so have mercy on me, O Possessor of boundless mercy. And cover me with forgiveness and protection from sins. I indeed, beseech You, invoking Your name that its remembrance makes the feet of the bearers of Your throne tremble, whose hearing it causes the pillars of the Throne to tremble down to the lowest depths. I indeed, ask You by the glory of that name which fills everything except You, to have mercy on me, O Lord, by my seeking refuge in You, by this name of Yours, O Great One, I have come to You with such and such, (and name the matter by which he came for), so forgive me for its consequences and protect me from its spreading after my departure from this position, O Merciful One.
For indeed, when he says that, I change his evil deeds into good deeds, and I raise his supplication as answered, and I overpower him over his whim.
