Prophetic Supplications: Salvation from Illness and Poverty

Salvation from Illness and Poverty

Ismael bin Abdul Khaliq says: A man from the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) was absent for some time. After a while, he came, and the Messenger of God asked him: What has kept you away from us? He replied: Illness and poverty. The Prophet said to him: Should I not teach you a supplication that God will save you from illness and poverty?! He replied: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: Say:

There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Highest, the Greatest. I place my trust in the Ever-Living who does not die, and “All praise is due to Allah, the One Who has Not taken to Him a son and Who has No partner in the sovereignty over the existence nor has he any protector [Since He has no weakness to be in Need of support] and [O, Messenger] Celebrate His Greatness repeatedly: [Say: Allah is the Absolute Great]”.
