For the Acceptance of Obligatory and Supererogatory Deeds

O Mohammad, and whoever of your nation wishes the acceptance of obligatory and supererogatory acts of worship, he should say behind every obligatory act or voluntary act [as follows]:

O the Lawgiver for His angels the upright religion, a religion by which He is pleased from them for Himself, and O the Creator of those besides the angels from His creation for the trial with His religion, and O the Chooser from His creation for His religion messengers to those below them, and O the Rewarder of the people of religion for what they did according to the religion, make me by the right of Your name, to which all good things are attributed, from the people of Your religion through which You act by imposing its rights upon them and emptying their hearts for the desire to fulfill Your rights in it. Do not make, by the right of Your name in which the details of all matters are, anything other than Your religion more evident in excellence, nor more beloved to me, nor more closely attached, nor am I more detached from it. And overcome my bewilderment and my desire and my inner and outer, and take hold of me by my forelock and lead me to all that You see from me as pleasing of Your obedience in the religion.

For indeed, when he says that, I accept from him the supererogatory [voluntary] acts of worship and the obligatory acts of worship, and I protect him therein from vanity, and I make my obedience and remembrance beloved to him.
